During my recent trip to Derbyshire, I discovered the charming Highway Cottage, a delightful homestay nestled in Kilburn, just a stone's throw from popular attractions like Chatsworth House and Donington Park. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Wendy, whose hospitality made me feel instantly at home-she even offered me a comforting cup of tea after my long journey. The spacious room was a haven of comfort, equipped with good WiFi, a cozy seating area, and tasteful decor that truly made it feel like my own retreat. One of the highlights of my stay was the splendid continental breakfast featuring Wendy's homemade blackberry jam, a perfect complement to the delicious spread. The serene garden provided a picturesque setting for morning relaxation, while the luxurious bathroom featured a fantastic shower that rejuvenated me after a day of exploration. With its inviting atmosphere and attention to detail, Highway Cottage surpassed the impersonal hotel experiences I've had in the past, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I look forward to returning during my next visit to this beautiful area!
